Lowly Marlins
Sad day for Marlin fans, Hanley Ramirez is officially gone. Even though I wanted him to be traded, I also wanted some promising players in return which didn't happen. Marlins fans can't be happy with way this team is ran. I liked the Anibal and Infante trade, even thought Infante was the only Marlin who actually tried, we got player in return like a top pitching prospect and a major league catcher. For the face of our franchise Hanley Ramirez we get players who won't pan out. We traded one of our top prospects, Matt Dominguez, to rent Carlos Lee for 6 months. This team needs new leaders, on and off the field. We need a president who actually knows what he'd and players who WANT to be Miami Marlins.

MLB trades
Today the Marlins have thrown in the white towel and have committed to being sellers at the trade deadline. They traded Omar Infante and Anibal Sanchez to the tigers for top pitching prospect Jacob turner and two other prospects. One of the other all star prospects is a catcher who was in the minor league all star game this year. I love that the marlins are realizing that this team isn't good and started trading people, but I rather have them get rid of the bigger name players such a Hanley Ramirez or Logan Morrison. Hanley is clearly not getting back to his top for and we should trade him while he still has some value, this situation reminds me of Dontrelle willis who just randomly stopped playing bad for the marlins as well. In other baseball news the yankees get better, they have acquired Ichiro Suzuki from the Mariners for prospects. Ichiro batted 8th for the yankees, that is how good this yankees line up now is.

Underachieving Marlins
The Miami Marlins are a mess right now and they continue to frustrate me on a daily basis. They go out and spend 191 million on 3 players but what has that turned in to, the team has only approved from HALF a game from where they were last year at the all star break. So whats the problem? almost everything. Lets start with the biggest problem the bats, Reyes, Hanley, LoMo, Buck, Sanchez, are all hitting way below from what they should be. I feel like we should trade Hanley before its too late and the rest of the league realizes that he has no talent. Pitching, Buehrle has been the only pitcher pitching consistently. The bullpen has been a mess besides for Cishek and Choate, Bell has to be one of the worst closers I have ever seen but he gets paid 27 million I don't understand. What should this team do to get better?

The best get better
Sources have said that Rashard Lewis has just committed to playing with the Heat next year. This Move gives Miami ANOTHER lethal 3 point shooter to go along with Ray Allen, MIller, Battier, and Chalmers. This makes the heat even scarier then what they were before, Lewis is a very good player, but no one knows much about him because he was stuck on the woeful wizards. This team should lead the NBA next year in 3 point percentage by a large margin. If you thought the Heat were dominate last year, just wait till this team opens up next year.. possibly can beat the bulls mark for best record in a regular season.

Dwight Howard sweepstakes
As of right now Dwight is rumored to be heading to Brooklyn in a 4 team trade. The Cavs and the Clippers are the other teams rumored in the trade. The Magic would be receiving Brook Lopez and 3 first rounders and other unimportant players. While Brooklyn will be getting Dwight and Jason Richardson. If this trade were to happen Brooklyn will be a very scary team. The East will win the championship every year for the next 5 years probably too. But, would they have enough to take down the Heat?

Team USA announced
Coach K announced tonight who will be representing the USA in London for the summer olympics. Of the 12 only 5 were in the olympics last year. If I had to put together a starting line up together I would choose Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Lebron James (captain America), and Kevin Love. USA will clear favorites when the tournament starts, anything but gold would be a disappointment. Here is the rest of the roster...
Kobe Bryant, Deron Williams, Russel Westbrook, Tyson Chandler, Blake Griffin, James Harden, Andre Iguodala
Giancarlo Stanton was pulled in the 3rd inning in this afternoons all star game. This is not good news, obviously is knee is not ok and a couple days isn't going to fix it. Stanton will be most likely out of the home run derby and all star game, a bummer because he would of dominated in the derby. In other news Carlos Zambrano with another frustrating start, 5 ip with 3 earned runs odd 7 hits. He keeps falling behind hitters and this is whats making him struggle. Zambrano has an era over 8 in his last 6 starts.
The Miami Heat are not done
With the pick up of Ray Allen yesterday the heat already filled one of its biggest needs, a sharpshooter. But Allen is only the 12th man on the roster, the heat still have work to do. Other possibilities is veteran forward Rashard Lewis, who is meeting with the heat today. He is also a great 3 point shooter and can fill in if Mike MIller or James Jones retires. He is also willing to take a min contract because he's already being paid around 13 million from the Hornets who bought out his contract. Another person the heat are high on is Marcus Camby, he was a top rebounder and shot blocker averaging 9 and 1.4. Camby isn't interested in a min contract so for the heat to attain Camby it would have to be through a sinn and trade. Pieces the heat can mover are likely Joel Anthony and the first round pick miami just got from Philly this past draft.

BREAKING NEWS: Ray Allen to the Heat
Just now sources have said Ray Allen has chosen to take his talents to south beach. The news broke with team owner Micky Arison tweeting "welcome to the family #20." This pick up makes Miami a VERY scary team, with players like Lebron, Wade and Bosh being doubled constantly its nice to add the best three point shooter EVER to clear up space.
Tonight the Marlins open up a 3 game set with the St.Louis Cardinals, this will be the last series before the all star break. Giancarlo Stanton is out of the line up again with loose parts in his knew. Stanton is working out with trainers before fridays game though, hopeful to be in the line up saturday and sunday. If he's not in the line up this weekend look for him to be scratched from the home run derby and all star game.

Nba update: Jeremy Lin is expected to sign with the Houston Rockets, Rockets are hoping that Lin can bring the Linsanity to Houston for some publicity. The deal is supposedly 28 million over 4 years, But the Knicks are prepared to match that offer. If the Knicks match the offer they'll be over the cap, but with the money the Knicks and Madison Square Garden brings in they are fine. In other news the Philly 76ers are close to releasing Elton Brand, this release is to free up cap space in order to retain SPencer Hawes and acquire Nick Young.
The Minnesota Timberwolves Has reached a verbal agreement with free agent Brandon Roy. They agrees on a 2 year $10.4 million dollar contract. This is a HUGE risk by the Wolves because Roy has had knee injuries is whole career, the reason why he didn't play last year. But who knows maybe with a year off he can get back to is usual self, which is pretty good.

Ray Allen update
Ray Allen is in Miami right as I post this meeting with the Heats brain trust. Earlier today we found out that the clippers are out of the running after signing Jamal Crawford and keeping Chauncey Billups. So now it's down to Miami and Boston, Miami for the better chance for another title and Boston for extra money.

Today the Miami Marlins got Carlos ( El Caballo) Lee in a trade with the Houston Astros. The Marlins are sending Matt Dominguez and left-handed pitcher Rob Rasmussen. Carlos lee is batting .287 this year with 5 homers and will be a big addition to the marlins line up, he will likely play first base because the marlins have just sent Gaby Sanchez to triple A. Also in news the lakers acquired Steve Nash in a sign and trade, Lakers are send two first and two second round draft picks to the Phoenix Suns. What interests me is how will Nash and Kobe mesh because both are primary ball handers.
The Minnesota Wild hit the jackpot today after signing the two best players in free agency. First, Zach Parise, he is most likely the best forward in free agency racking up 69 points last season while scoring 31 goals. He helped lead the New Jersey Devils to the stanley cup finals. Not only did the Wild score on Parise but they're also bringing in the best defender in free agency. Ryan Suter Leaves the Nashville Predators who reached the playoffs last year. Suter had a career high in points this season with 46. Both deal are reportedly worth 98 million dollars over 13 years.
A bunch of news in the NBA lately, i'll start off with the biggest one contract wise as Deron Williams decides to accept a 5 year 98 million dollar contract. With Brooklyn being able to get back D-will they are going to go into next season with a solid team that should compete and who knows that whiny baby in Orlando (Dwight Howard) might be heading to Brooklyn as well. In other news jason Terry is rumored to be going to Boston but the number on that deal are still be negotiated. Terry is a good plan if Ray Allen decides to leave Boston, but Celtics are still trying to get Allen to come to Boston.

Miami Heat
Hello fellow readers, as you can tell this is my first post, you can also realize that this will be about sports ALL the time. I figured my first post should be about the team that just raised that Larry O'Brien trophy, which was the Miami Heat. The highly scrutinized Lebron James finally got to put his hands on the trophy for the first time after averaging 30 points and nearly 10 rebounds in the finals. But that is the past now so whats in store for pat riley this offseason. His number one target this offseason is Ray Allen the all time leader in 3 pointers made. Ray Allen will be making his trip to Miami on thursday for a meeting with Miami's front office. Allen also has a meeting with the LA clippers later this week and already has an offer from Boston which is supposedly double the amount of money that Miami is offering him. But Miami offers Allen that no one else can, the best chance at picking up his second ring. So will Ray allen take his talents to south beach this summer or will he stick with Boston or maybe even head out west?
